“Ink & Paper” gets some press
Ben Proudfoot’s short documentary about the last surviving paper shop and letterpress printing shop in downtown Los Angeles has been viewed more than forty-two thousand times in 130 countries worldwide to date. The most exciting part is that the two struggling companies have begun to see new life and the bells are ringing again! The film and Kyle’s score were reviewed in several popular art blogs: Photo Cine Press, LA I’m Yours, and LAist.

“Dinner with Fred” wins Best Original Score
Kyle’s score to “Dinner with Fred” was awarded Best Original Score at the Van Wert Film Festival in Chicago, IL on July 9, 2011.

“Cassation” world premiere at USC New Music for Orchestra Concert
Kyle’s new orchestral work “Cassation” was given the honor of a world premiere performance at the annual USC New Music for Orchestra concert on January 27th in Bovard Auditorium. The performance was conducted by Maestro Donald Crockett. View the performance: click here

“Dinner with Fred”
Kyle’s score to Ben Proudfoot’s new film Dinner with Fred was recently recorded at The Bridge Recording Studio in Glendale, CA. Kyle conducted many of John Williams’ principle and primary session musicians for the 21 minutes of original score. The film will premiere in late January at the Downtown Independent Theater located in downtown Los Angeles, CA.

The Tucson Symphony’s Paloma Winds woodwind quintet and Suite-Strings string quartet premiered Kyle’s String Quartet No. 4 and performed arrangements of film scores as well as Like Clockwork for woodwind quintet in the 2010 Music from Greer chamber music festival in Greer, AZ. Saxophonist Max Schwimmer permiered Like Clockwork with the Zed Prime Saxophone Quartet at Arizona State University.

Saxophonist Max Schwimmer, cellist John Kreager, and pianist Lawrence Escamilla premiered “Waves” at the University of New Mexico in the 2009 NASA Saxophone Conference.
